Dr Konain Ehsan, MBChB
Future Doctor Course Director
Dr Konain Ehsan is a UK-trained medical doctor, simulation-trained educator, and clinical researcher with over six years of experience delivering high-quality teaching to high school students, medical students, and junior doctors. He holds an MBChB from the University of Aberdeen, along with a formal teaching qualification and specialist training in simulation-based education, with a strong focus on immersive, learner-centred approaches.
His core expertise lies in designing and delivering simulation programmes that bridge the gap between theory and real-world clinical practice. Dr Ehsan has extensive experience teaching core clinical skills, acute care scenarios, communication skills, and human factors—using simulation to build confidence, clinical reasoning, and safe decision-making in high-pressure environments.
Currently, he works as a GP Specialty Trainee in NHS Scotland and a Clinical Research Fellow, ensuring his teaching remains clinically authentic and aligned with current practice. His research background includes work in acute triage, service optimisation, and AI-supported clinical decision-making, all of which inform the scenarios and learning objectives he develops.
Dr Ehsan has led and delivered teaching programmes at scale, working with multidisciplinary faculty and learners at various stages of training. His approach to simulation places strong emphasis on psychological safety, structured debriefing, and reflective practice—creating a supportive environment where learners can safely make mistakes while developing competence and confidence.
Through his work, Dr Ehsan aims to deliver practical, high-impact education that prepares learners not just to pass assessments, but to thrive in real clinical settings. He continues to combine frontline clinical practice with educational leadership to deliver simulation experiences that are realistic, evidence-based, and focused on improving patient care.
