The Global Space Design Challenge is an intensive 3-day competition, designed and delivered by top industry and universities professionals such as Imperial College London, the only university in the UK to focus solely on science, engineering, medicine, and business. The GSDC is based on the UK Space Design Competition. This exciting 14 year-old program provides a realistic industry simulation in which young trainees form and control their own company with the help of mentors.

The Global Space Design Challenge offers participants a chance to learn from academics at Imperial College London and from other prestigious universities, including University of Oxford, as well as from space industry professionals. Student attendees will read outside of the normal school curriculum – a crucial component in any strong university application. In addition, entrants to the GSDC will have a unique opportunity to learn design, presentation, and communication skills in a corporate setting.
Three days July 23-25
Day one: Form a Company; Participate in the Space Quiz; Elect Company Officers: President, Vice President of Marketing, Engineering Section Heads (Operations, Structural, Automation, Human Engineering); Engineering Section Heads then take part in Technical Training Sessions for their specialty, while Officers Receive Management Training.
Day two: Design your Space Settlement, assisted by academic and industry mentors.
Day three: Present your design to judges from Space Agencies, Industry, and Universities; The Winning Company is announced.
Certificates are presented to Participants and to Winning Company Members for Innovation, Presentation, and other proficiencies.
